New Twitter user interface

So Twitter launched a new version of its web based user interface.

I personally like some of the advanced features and statistics that the new Twitter gives me. However, I wanted to pause and comment on the fact that if they would have launched Twitter with this kind of interface back in the days, I believe they would fail to make it through.

Why do I think so? Because the interface looks so busy now that I believe it would scare off most of us “ordinary” users who just want things easy and simple.

So that is the business lesson of today: launch your web product simple, with fewer functions and a VERY simple user interface. Add functions and make the application robust as you go along and as your users request it.
